What You Should Know!
What most people do not know is that dog feces (doody) can be very harmful to human health. Dog doody is one of the leading sources of E.coli. It has been estimated that a single gram of dog waste can contain 23 million fecal coliform bacteria, which are known to cause cramps, diarrhea, intestinal illness, and serious kidney disorders in humans. Dog feces can also contain Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Salmonella, Toxocara (large roundworms), as well as hookworms, ringworms, and tapeworms -- that can all spread to humans!
When the dog "doodies" lie on the ground, they are then washed into the ground and storm drains and eventually into streams, lakes, etc. due to rainwater.
Children are the most likely targets of the spread of disease from dog "doody", since they often play in dirt and put their fingers and other objects into their mouths or eyes.
Also, flies will consume and lay eggs in feces. These same flies will then come into your house and then spread disease as they pause on your counter and food.
